Arizona Fresh Foodie Trail Tour
Enjoy a taste of real Arizona style barbeque at Jalapeño Bucks. As soon as you arrive, the smells of the delicious barbeque fills the air and makes your mouth water. First, you’ll be treated to a Jalapeño Bucks staple, perfectly smoked barbecue brisket, offered with three types of delicious sauces. Next on the menu are their five made-from-scratch salsas and homemade tortilla chips. The uniqueness of the food comes from the blend of southern tastes with southwestern flair.
Just east of Mesa is the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Arizona’s only family-owned and operated working olive mill and farm where olives are grown and pressed for the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil. After a tour of the olive grove and complimentary tasting of the purest olive oils, guests are invited to grab a quick bite at del Piero – the mill’s Tuscan-inspired eatery featuring gourmet sandwiches, paninis as well as soups, salads, gelato and espresso.
Agritopia is a community on the edge of the City Limitless rural/urban interface in Mesa. It is an “urban farm” designed to flourish in the urban setting. Instead of a huge field of one crop, you’ll find a patchwork of numerous specialty crops. Agritopia boasts same-day harvest offerings sold at The Farm Store, as well as the fresh food being served at Joe’s Farm Grill and The Coffee Shop. All of the produce grown on the farm is grown under the USDA organic protocol. Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri – here they do common food done uncommonly well.
